Here at Prospect, we don’t just sell and let homes in the local area; we are local people ourselves and love being a part of the local community. That is why we set up the Prospect Foundation to give back to the amazing community that has given us so much over the years.
Alongside our long-term support and sponsorship of local charity Wokingham in Need, we have chosen two charities to support in 2022. These are homelessness charity, Launchpad and mental health charity, Mind – two organisations that are very close to our hearts.
In the spirit of giving back to our community, we are also reintroducing our school donations this year. When you sell with Prospect, we will donate £250 of your selling fee to a local school of your choice. These donations make a huge difference to our local schools – in fact, one Sandhurst school used it to fund their Nativity play!
Whilst we love helping our local community, we are also proud to say that Prospect Estate Agency also has a worldwide environmental impact too. Through our partnership with Ecologi, we have become a Climate Positive Workforce and pledge to plant 740 trees worldwide each year, from Scotland to Mozambique! Take a look below at the work we have done recently to support local charities, businesses, and organisations in our community.
Green by brand, green by belief.
In the fast-paced process of moving home, it can be easy to forget about the one home we all share. The one home that we cannot move away from; the home that is in desperate need of some TLC.
Aware that we are all temporary tenants on this planet we call home, Prospect couldn’t turn a blind eye to the climate crisis. That is why we decided to partner with Ecologi in 2021 to join the fight to protect the world we live in.
Thanks to Ecologi, Prospect are now celebrating one year as a Climate Positive Estate Agency – the first of many! We feel immensely proud to be making a positive difference to the planet while continuing our passion for helping people find their dream home.
As part of our climate positive journey, we funded the planting of 743 trees around the globe in 2021, which has helped to support reforestation projects and landowners in Madagascar, Mozambique, Uganda, Kenya, Nicaragua and even Scotland!
Ecologi also offset the carbon emissions of every single Prospect employee, reducing 53.04 tonnes of CO2 in one year. This carbon reduction contributes to projects ran by Ecologi around the world, such as wind power generation in Vietnam and preserving the Amazonian rainforest in Brazil.
We are so proud to be the first Climate Positive estate agency in the area and hope that our efforts will inspire others to follow suit. Our commitment to you is that we will continue to offset our carbon emissions and fund the planting of at least 740 trees every year, so when you choose us to sell your home with Prospect, you know you’re doing your bit to help the planet.
Prospect Bracknell are so proud to have donated a Wendy House to a local Family Fundraising Fun Day, held at the Royal Oak on Sunday 9th July. Sold in a raffle, ‘Tara Towers’ helped raise money for inspiring local lady Tara Cunningham Harris to receive life-saving treatment for stage 4 bowel cancer.
We are so pleased to announce that ‘Tara Towers’ raised £6,000 for the incredible cause, contributing to the astounding grand total of £22,000 raised by the Family Fundraising Fun Day.
On Friday 13th May, Prospect employees dressed up in their most colourful, crazy clothing to raise money and awareness for Mind. We are so proud to have raised a whopping £1,360 via our Just Giving page!
In April 2022, Prospect raised £400 for mental health charity Mind through our Easter egg tombola and Easter egg hunt held for the local community at our offices.
We also hosted a staff bingo game at our quarterly awards to raise funds for this fantastic cause.
We promised a £100 donation to Great Ormond’s Street Hospital if our Winnersh Client Manager, Grace Brown, received 100 likes and comments on her Happy birthday post. Needless to say, this social media queen managed to secure the donation made in her name to her favourite charity!
We promised to donate £100 to Prostate Cancer UK if Ryan Bloomfield, our Winnersh Sales Manager, received 100 likes and comments on his Happy Birthday post on our page! Being a popular guy, Ryan achieved the donation, and we were very pleased to make it in his name!
As part of our ‘Window of Hope’ display in our Reading office, we donated £1,000 to the Royal Berks charity, which we hope will go some small way towards thanking our local heroes for working tirelessly to protect us throughout the pandemic and beyond.
Prospect have supported Wokingham in Need for many years now and have facilitated a number of the charity’s campaigns by volunteering our time, money and resources to their cause. Having supported the project from its inception through to completion, Prospect were so proud to attend the grand opening of WIN’s sensory garden on 30th July and were blown away by the final result.
In April, we were devastated to hear about the number of people who lost all of their belongings in a fire in a block of flats in Arborfield.
Desperate to help our community in a time of crisis, Prospect Wokingham donated £250 to The Cowshed, an amazing local charity who had been providing clothes and bedding to those affected by the fire.
In December, Prospect held a competition on social media where people had to nominate their favourite charity to be in with a chance of winning a £1,000 donation for that charity.
Chosen at random and with a great deal of nominations, we were delighted to announce that the winners were BIBS (Babies in Buscot Support) - an incredible charity that provides support for premature or ill babies and their families in the Buscot Ward at the Royal Berkshire hospital.
When the UK entered another lockdown in January 2021, we set up a new Home Learning hub for local parents, offering free IT support, free printing, free learning resources and even free support from Uni students who were on hand to help. Our Facebook page, ‘Home Schooling in the Home Counties’, helped take some pressure off of over 1000 home-schooling parents across the country.
To celebrate our 30th anniversary during such an unprecedented year, we donated 30 Christmas dinners to be distributed to local, disadvantaged families by The Link Foundation.
The charity provides help to families in difficult circumstances and were inundated with applications for Christmas dinners during the COVID pandemic. We were so proud to make some contribution to the 600 dinners they aimed to provide for local families.
To celebrate 30 years of business and £100,000 donated to charities over the past few years, Prospect employees recorded their very own rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody to raise money for the mental health charity, Mind.
With lockdown and the global pandemic having such a negative impact on mental health across the country, we were so proud to raise £3,000 for Mind – even if we did have to embarrass ourselves a bit along the way!
On 7th March 2020, 14 Prospect employees (including our MD!) slept out on the streets of Wokingham to raise money for Wokingham in Need, a charity we have worked with for many years who are working to fight homelessness in Wokingham.
Thanks to our efforts, we were able to raise over £2,000 to help the homeless in Wokingham.
We proudly donated £2,562.50 to InnerSense, a unique arts charity who create immersive multisensory workshops for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities. They have been looking at alternative ways to ensure our ideas and techniques continue to reach our client group and have begun a project to transfer our ideas online to create an accessible resource for others.
We proudly donated £500 to HeartUK as part of their National Cholesterol Month 100mile challenge. We had a team of Cholesterol warriors take part in their 100 mile challenge in October and together they walked, ran and even skipped over the 100 miles. We were proud of their efforts and happily donated an extra £500 on top of everything they raised individually.
We proudly donated £750 to The Link Foundation which will be used to feed 30 families this Christmas. The Link foundation is a Maidenhead and Marlow based children’s charity committed to improving the lives of children and their families in the local community and surrounding areas. With the current pandemic, there are more families than ever that need their support.
We were proud to donate £1,000 to St John’s Ambulance Farnborough. As well as offering Ambulance services, St John’s provides much needed first aid training and supplies to many private organisations across the country.
In March this year, just before lockdown put the country on pause, we were delighted to donate £10,000 to the Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent hospice in Reading. The hospice in Reading looks after people with life-limiting conditions and they also offer excellent support for families too.
We proudly donated £816.75 to Save the Children to help them continue their necessary work. In the UK and around the world, Save the Children make sure children are safe and healthy. Save the Children support them to learn, grow and become who they want to be.
We proudly donated £2,916.66 to Alexander Devine to help them continue the care they provide. Alexander Devine provide vital support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families, across Berkshire and the surrounding counties.
Prospect were delighted to visit COATS’s (Crowthorne Old Age to Teen Society) refurbished premises on Pinewood Avenue to make a donation and see the wonderful work they do to improve older people’s livelihoods and create a bridge of compassion between the generations.
Working in property, we know more than anyone the importance of having a home, so the issue of homelessness is close to our hearts. Because of this, we reached out to local charity Launchpad, who focus on homelessness prevention via providing homes, skills and resources.
In affluent areas like Wokingham, it is often easy to forget that people who are vulnerable and in need of help live there too.
Luckily, local resident Sue Jackson founded Wokingham in Need (WIN) four years ago to help anyone and everyone in need in the Wokingham area.
Young or old, suffering mentally or struggling financially, no group is excluded from WIN’s support.
Community is about feeling supported and at times of hardship it is a comfort to know that local initiatives like DrugFAM are there. DrugFAM is a charity providing assistance to families, friends and partners impacted by a loved one’s substance misuse – including in instances of bereavement.
Prospect is assisting DrugFAM through Wokingham in Need (WIN), and has donated £10,000 towards putting on plays and awareness workshops in schools and colleges to highlight the effects of drug abuse.
That is why this year we are running the Our Home, Our Community campaign.
Once a month, we will pluck a lucky name from one of our recent sales out of a hat and donate 50% of the commission of that sale towards a charity of the seller’s choice.
Not only that, but we will do special features on the chosen charity, giving them an extra platform to promote their cause.
If you're thinking of selling your home in Berkshire, Surrey or Hampshire, sell with Prospect and we'll give £250 of our selling fee back to your child's school or a local school of your choice!*
Since we first opened our doors way back in 1990, we've always been a huge part of the community and involved with local sponsorship.
Prospect is proud to show its support for worthy causes. Through Prospect Foundation, we sponsor local schools and community groups but we also show our support for many local charitable groups.
Last year, our Property Management team lead the office in a Wear it Pink day, to raise money for Breast Cancer Now, which was a raging success.
We were proud to support the first ever triplets to compete in the same triathlon for Team GB. Paying for their entries and travel alongside providing their kit, each of the girls achieved a PB.
Every year a local nursery holds a Teddy Bear’s Picnic. We not only provide marketing to promote the event, you’ll find us there on the day getting stuck in and having fun!
In 2017 we were the main sponsors of Reading Gay Pride. Working alongside Roy and the rest of the team, we provided marketing and support on the day. Not to mention handing out over 10,000 sweets to the amazing crowd that attended!
Local school events are great fun and we love supporting local schools helping them raise money for their PTA’s. At this event we spent the day with Mickey and Minnie and filled one of our Mini’s with Balloons, the lucky winner got a £50 Go Ape Voucher!
The Ollie Young Foundation is a wonderful local charity that raises funds and awareness for targeted paediatric brain tumour research and support. They raise funds through many different events and recently needed to replace their trusted Gazebo that keeps them dry when the traditional rainy British weather comes into force.
After hearing their need for a new Gazeebo we touched base to check the exact sizes and style they needed then got them one ordered straight away. Just a small way we can help them continue the amazing work they’re doing.
Wear it Pink is an annual event helping raise awareness and funding for Breast Cancer research. Every year we get involved with Wear it Pink and have seen some amazing outfits over the years! With big pink baby grows, full crayon outfits and even a whoopee cushion outfit, we have helped raise thousands of pounds for this amazing cause.
We’ll be taking part again this year, so make sure you pop into one of our offices on 18th October and check out this year’s crazy outfits!
If you’re a fan of cars then the Camberley Car Show is a not to be missed event! There were hundreds of cool and classic cars on display, including a DMC DaLorean and the real bat mobile!
From our office based in the Atrium we got involved with all the advertising and then had front row seats to all the action. Those who attended were collecting lots of freebies on the day, including our car air fresheners!
The Pinewood activity centre is a wonderful place packed full of adventures for big and little kids alike! Every other year Pinewood host a festival at their huge grounds off the Old Wokingham Road and it’s a not to be missed event! The festival is a family favourite and we were delighted to be able to get involved and support the organisers.
From marketing the event with boards, leaflets and social media to helping man the event itself, and of course trying our luck on the great games, it was a fantastic day and we can’t wait to get involved again in future events.
We’re big on fitness at Prospect and many of our staff run in the local marathons, so when we had the opportunity to sponsor Maidenhead Half Marathon we jumped (or should we say ran?!) at the chance.
The amazing runners were guided around the 21km course by our estate agency boards marking each mile.
When they came back into the town and down the High Street, our team were there with banners, balloons and huge cheers to help get them through the final miles.
We're proudly rated excellent by our clients on TrustPilot
'Prospect' has recently helped me with selling my flat although my property was not the easiest to sell. 'Prospect' is represented by a team of enthusiastic, hardworking, professional, hardworking people who don't easily give up. I definitely recommend 'Prospect'.
