The Aldershot area has a number of fantastic pubs, restaurants, and cafes for every budget. Grab a bite to eat overlooking the lake at The Lake House Café or enjoy fresh food and quality coffee at The Gorge Café.
For an evening meal, there’s a whole range of different cuisines available in the area, from Indian to Nepalese to Caribbean to Italian. There’s a variety of great pubs too, including The Swan, The Greyhound, and The Admiral – not to mention the Hog’s Back Brewery in Tongham, which is the largest brewery in Surrey! Just 20 minutes out of Aldershot by car or train, Guildford is a wonderful town that boasts a wide variety of high street and independent shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes. There’s also a castle with gorgeous grounds that are perfect for a picnic!
Situated in close proximity to the M3, M4, A3, and M25, Aldershot benefits from great connections to London, the Southcoast, and the rest of the country. The town also has excellent transport links by bus and rail.

On the 9th December 1961, before their career really took off, the Beatles played a gig at The Palais Ballroom in Aldershot, which was on the corner of Queens Road and Perowne Street. However, due to an unfortunate blunder with Aldershot News regarding the promotion of their event, only 18 people showed up, and The Fab Four were forced to play to a half-empty venue!
